In 1991, the latest generation of the S-Class was presented at the Geneva Motor Show, whose body design was based on the traditional, typical Mercedes-Benz styling elements. As with the SL models of the 129 model series, the radiator grille as a characteristic trademark was also reinterpreted stylistically in the case of the new S-Class, while retaining the traditional basic shape. Only a few years later, in 1994, the S-Class sedans presented themselves with a stylistically subtle revision, resulting in a visually lighter and more dynamic appearance. A major factor for the harmonious overall appearance of the S-Class was also the formal revision of the rear end. The lower radii of the trunk lid joints have been rounded off as in the coupe models. The 6.0-liter V12 engine M 120 was also completely redesigned. With a rated output of 300 kW (408 hp), it also entered history as the most powerful Mercedes-Benz passenger car engine. In 1995, the revisions again focused primarily on technical details such as the 5-speed automatic transmission with torque converter bridge clutch. The engines were revised again to further reduce fuel consumption and pollutant emissions.By September 1998, 406,532 sedans of model series 140 were to be discontinued. The miniature model consisting of 120 individual parts, which was implemented in the highest degree of detail according to the original CAD data, is precisely in this tradition. Manufactured in an international scale of 1:18, the hand-assembled precision model is painted in the authentic color and features a true representation of all interior details. The interior and trunk floor are also flocked. Six parts on the model car can be opened (doors, hood and tailgate) and provide a view into the interior of the vehicle. The model is supplied in Mercedes-Benz Classic packaging with a glove and screwdriver. The precision model can be removed from the packaging without leaving fingerprints on the glazing or body.
